Uganda Support Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) funds were recalled by the center in the financial years, 2018/19 and 2019/20 over delayed contract sourcing by government and not because of any errors by the Kasese Municipal political leadership of the time, the Hon. Centenary Robert, the former Kasese Municipal Legislator, has said.
His statements were triggered by claims by Hon. Ferigo Kambale, his successor, that he used his finance and administration expertize when he assumed office to ensure that funds under USMID program were not absorbed by the center each financial year. Hon. Ferigo speaking……
Addressing his electorates in Kizungu cell in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Hon. Centenary, the FDC flag bearer for Kasese Municipality said whereas funds under USMID had been absorbed by the center twice under the Uganda Public Accounts Managements Act, it did not mean loss of the project but a policy beyond them because government had not identified a contactor then.
