A twenty five year-old suspected notorious thief has committed suicide in police cells in Bulembia Division in Kasese Municipality.
No official statement yet from Police but Mr. Richard Bomera, the local council three chairperson for Bulembia Division, confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as one Mr. Eagle Masereka, a local resident of Masule A cell in the same Division.
Mr. Bomera said the deceased could have made the decision over suspicions that his physical attacks on Ms Jona Biira, a business woman who was also robbed on monies, could land him into more trouble now that police had intensified investigations and the locals had picked interest in the matter. Mr. Bomera also said the deceased who was new in the area, was recently released from prison after serving a six months’ sentence over assault and theft. Mr. Bomera speaking2………
