Mr. Lameki Bwambale, a suspected thief on Police’s wanted list has been arrested reportedly in a witch doctor’s shrine in Burama village in Mbunga subcounty in Kasese district, SP Nelson Tumushime, the Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region, has confirmed.
SP Tumusiime said the arrest follows the recent theft and rescue of 17 goats, sixteen of which were discovered at the home of the Vice chairman for Burama village who since revealed that the animals had been brought to his home by his no nonsense son who later went in hiding.
Speaking to our reporter this evening, the chairperson for Basecamp lower cell in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Jafali Kigutiha who together with other local leaders reportedly entered a witch doctor’s shrine to arrest Mr. Lameki, the suspect, asked one Mr. Pirada, the suspected lead buyer of stolen goats in Mbunga, to report to Police to help the forces in the ongoing investigation. Mr. Kigutiha also confirm that five of the 17 goats had been identified by the owners, and 11 were at police now that one had been slaughtered reportedly by Mr. Lameki before police’s rescue mission at his father’s home. END
