By Kyamanduma Patrick,
Former Forum for Democratic Change chairman for Kasese district, Mr. Saulo Maate has described as misguided, an apology made by Hon. Centenary Robert, the former Kasese Municipal legislator over what he thinks is uncalled for friction between him and his former political boss.
Mr. Saulo’s statements follow what many have perceived as not common but boldness by Hon. Centenary to publically apologize over what could have been bad blood between him and his political mentor.
During today’s popular Thukayahi program on Kasese Guided Radio hosted by Mr. David Katya, Hon. Centenary said divisionism fuelled by personal sentiments among opposition politicians, was the reason the ruling NRM party dominates politics, particularly in Kasese district whose former political songs ditched NRM.
It’s upon this background that Hon. Centenary apologized to Mr. Saulo Maate under the context of respecting him as an elder and promoting opposition political ideology that requires firm grounds and joint forces against the ruling party. Hon. Centenary speaking……..
When interviewed at his offices this afternoon, Mr. Saulo, the chairperson for People’s Front for Freedom in Kasese district, said he was small for any apology but rather Hon. Centenary should be joined by other FDC leaders to apologize to the people of Kasese for having dissolved a political party that once guided Uganda made headlines in the media. Mr. Saulo Mate speaking1…….
Mr. Saulo later drove his point by using the idiom, ‘’to eat an omelette, one breaks an egg’’, threatening that FDC may not do much anymore if her leaders were not ready for sacrifice. Mr. Saulo speaking2……..
In as separate interview, Mr. Ronald Thembo, a shopkeeper in Kasese town however, described Hon. Centenary’s move as maturity. END
