Mr. Jonan Bwambale Bamwenda, NUP’s parliamentary flag bearer for Busongora County North in Kasese district, calls for what he describes as a manipulation of the Rwenzururu Kingdom veterans he alleges were forced into partisan NRM politics than being given their long awaited for retirement benefits.
Mr. Jonan’s comments follow concerns by Mzee Nzwebe Mwahulwa and other veterans who were invited from across the Rwenzori sub-region to meet with Hon. Alice Kaboyo, the State Minister for Rwenzori-Luwero at the Kasese district Multi-purpose hall but with no food and transport refund. Mzee Nzwebe speaking………
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio last evening, Mr. Jonan could not believe that instead of the meeting focusing on the retirees’ benefits, it pushed them into partisan politics that saw the launch of the ‘Rwenzururu for Museveni’ campaign. Hon. Jonan speaking………
Retired Major Katusabe Sibendire, an Independent Parliamentary candidate for Kasese Municipality, is however hesitant if the Presidency can convene such a sensitive meeting at the Kasese Multipurpose hall without budgeting for facilitation. Major Katusabe speaking……
Hon. Yusufu Kiduha, the Kasese District NRM Publicity Secretary said he wasn’t close in the preparation for the repeated disorganization; asking the veteran not to cleave to the weaknesses than focusing on the strength and benefits from this government. Mr. Yunusu speaking……
When asked this morning, Hon. Yusufu Kiduha, the Rwenzururu Veterans Association, apologized to his voters before blaming the situation to communication gaps that called in all the veterans instead of the members of association structure. Hon. Kiduha speaking…….
He called for calm among the members he asked to be expectant. END
