The Bishop of the Diocese of Jinja, Rt. Rev. Charles Martin Wamika, was laid to rest yesterday evening inside St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Rubaga, amidst heartfelt calls for unity and continued service to the Church.

The send-off mass was presided over by the Archbishop of Tororo Archdiocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Obbo, who was joined by the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Most Rev. Paul Ssemogerere, alongside several bishops from across the country.
He traversed parishes across his episcopal area, preaching the gospel and strengthening faith through God-given endurance,” Obbo said.
He added that even during his treatment abroad, Bishop Wamika kept close contact with his diocese, praying for the faithful and monitoring church programs. The Busoga Kingdom Premier, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, praised Bishop Wamika’s leadership and unity, which he said enabled the Diocese to achieve remarkable development milestones. He called on Catholics to dedicate both time and resources to sustain the Diocese’s community programs. END
