The Kasese Municipal Education Officer, Mr Emmy Kayiri, calls for reasonable investment into equipping private schools with relevant and enough text books to ease the learning process.

Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after his inspection tour of schools in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Mr. Kayiri was concerned that many private schools do not have enough copies of the relevant text books, thus, asking the school proprietors to budget from the same come next year. In a related development earlier, Mr. Dan Benon Masereka, the Head teacher for Kamaiba Primary School, said only 106 of the 1004 pupils at his school had not turned up after schools opened following the suspension of the teachers’ industrial action over low pay and salary discrepancies. Earlier, Mr. Kayiri asked private schools to teach and not to coach learners if they were to ably respond to the job market and community demands. END
