The body of the 51 years old Anastasia Annet Kiiza, the biological mother of Rev. Fr. Francis Mwanje, has been laid to rest at her marital home in Kyabolokya Cell, Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town Council in Kasese district, with a call on mourners to live exemplary in Christ.

In his homily while presiding over the Funeral Mass yesterday, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kasese, Msgr. Landaus Bwambale who also represented the Bishop, described the deceased as one of the most hardworking, God fearing and a devotee of the Legion of Mary who fully committed herself to her church, smiled and shared with all.

Addressing himself to the recent attacks, Msgr. Landaus called for continuous prayers and mindset change, wondering how people still believe in witchcraft, outdated approaches and tools to wage war against an organized, well facilitated, ideologically guided and a well-trained security apparatus of Uganda. Mr. Joseph Mwanje, said his wife was a strong woman who withstood many trials and temptations for the good of her family, God’s work and the community. Earlier in his speech, Mr. Martin Safari, the central division chairperson who is also the aspiring local council three chairperson for Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, asked for collaborated efforts against domestic violence and poor garbage disposal that risk lives.
