Police in Rwenzori East Region are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder of a 60-year-old man, the late Frank Muganda, who was reportedly lynched by a mob over accusations of raping a two-year-old minor in Kayanja Cell, Hima Town Council, Kasese District.
SP Solomon Akiiki Mugisa, the Community Liaison Officer for Rwenzori East, confirmed the incident and stated that one suspect, identified as Gerald Akangwasa, is in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
According to SP Solomon, preliminary medical examination results show no evidence of rape on the minor, indicating that late Muganda may have been wrongly accused and killed innocently.SP Solomon speaking…
