Mr. Kid Mafunguro, a contender for the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament seat on People’s Front for Freedom- PFF in the 2026 general elections, yesterday officially launched his political campaigns in Kyanzuki Ward, Bulembia Division, in Kasese Municipality, prioritizing, infrastructure, education and health among others.
He also emphasized a drainage master plan, lobbying funds for registered groups, and requesting government to address Nyamwamba River flooding which has claimed lives and destroyed properties, should he be elected.

Mafunguro, a journalist-turned-politician, also pledged to establish a cultural museum to promote tourism and generate revenue for Kasese Municipality. Meanwhile, Major John Sibendire Katusabe, an independent candidate for Kasese Municipality MP seat in the 2026 general elections, officially launched his political campaign rallies in Kiteso and Kilembe Quarters, listing the fight against corruption and lobbying the government to allow squatters on the Kilembe Mines lease to obtain sub-leases, among other issues.
