Ms. Justine Muhindo Mutabazi, the Kasese Assistant Resident District Commissioner, has urged parents and guardians of government-aided primary schools to embrace school development initiatives aimed at helping schools raise funds to pay support staff for improved academic performance.
While addressing a PTA meeting and presiding over the election of a new PTA executive committee today, Ms. Justine said that the government allows parents and guardians to contribute development funds, provided that the PTA meeting passes a formal resolution that is properly documented and signed. Mr. Moses Muhuba, the outgoing PTA Chairperson, was replaced by Mr. Kighema Simeho. The new leadership was tasked with lobbying for the construction of a school fence and staff quarters, the provision of scholastic materials, and the formulation of by-laws to address the issue of late coming among learners.
