More than 2000 runners have registered to take part in the first-ever Omusinga Birthday Run in Kasese tomorrow, the event that will open the 59th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma, the Rwenzururu King.
Organizers are reporting a surge in local support, with many kingdom subjects purchasing the run kits and pledging support for long-term development projects, including the establishment of a Kingdom radio station and a one-stop center for cultural tourism among other projects in line with the kingdom’s strategic development plan, according to Mr. Wilson Bwambale and Ms Doreen Muhindi, both Rwenzururu kingdom subjects. Best Juliet Bakoko Kambale, said President Museveni is expected to be the chief guest at the Coronation anniversary and run, the latter being organized partly as a kingdom rebranding tool to promote unity and cultural identity.
