Hon. Juliet Best Bakoko, the Minister of Gender, Rehabilitation, and Disability Affairs in Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu (OBR), has cautioned kingdom subjects against engaging in acts that promote domestic violence and its associated dangers.
Addressing residents of Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality, during a one-day gender training held yesterday at Kasese Baptist Church, Hon. Best noted that domestic violence is often linked to poverty, school dropouts, early marriages, and teenage pregnancies, among other factors.

Hon. Best, who revealed that Kasese District ranks third in Uganda in cases of Gender-Based Violence, said that only a few cases are reported, while many others remain unreported and are silently handled within homes.
She added that the OBR Kingdom is calling for mindset change within the community regarding domestic violence, noting that young girls, women, and men are the most affected. She emphasized that GBV negatively impacts development, education, and livelihoods. Hon. Best speaking..
