A section of local residents of Sayuni Ward in Rugendabara-Kikongo Town council in Kasese district is calling for the prosecution of a medical Doctor identified only as Bwambale over what has been perceived as negligence of duty that resulted into the death of their beloved daughter, Ms Evelyn Muhindo Shalya, a 36 year old mother.
Whereas Mr. Godnus Bwambale, a brother to the deceased alleged that the medic at a yet to be identified private health facility in Kasese Municipality had been detained at Kasese Police Division over the matter, Kasese Guide Radio is yet to confirm the claims.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at Kasese Division police headquarters last evening, Mr. Godnus alleged that the late Evelyn who was under labor pains, had come to a health facility last Saturday before passing on at 3am on Sunday under circumstances caused by what the family calls negligence by the nurses led by Mr. Bwambale, a senior medic on duty that night. He said the content of the postmortem reportedly signed by a police forces’ doctor is the grounds the deceased’s family wants to base on to sue the suspected errorant doctor and the health facility. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. END
