President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered for the review of PDM regulations, arrest officials cited in extortion and theft of PDM funds as he pins some Parish Chiefs, Parish focal persons and Parish Sacco Chairpersons for abuse of the program aimed at improving household incomes of low income earners in Uganda.
Addressing the 40th NRM/A Liberation celebrants at Kololo Independence grounds in Kampala yesterday, President Museveni notes that the PDM initiative he described as a silver bullet to neutralize poverty at household levels, will not be left to waste by errant officials, thereby, ordering for the dissolution of wrongly formulated PDM committees.
He also affirmed plans to increase PDM funds for Saccos in urban Areas to between 300 to 400 million shillings annually from the 100 million shillings allocation. President Museveni speaking………
The president later called for the dissolution of selfish PDM Sacco committee members, identify and arrest Sacco leaders who connive to register their relatives and either give less money or seek bribes from beneficiaries. Mr. Museveni speaking2………
