Educationists and residents of Kitholhu Sub-county in Kasese District have commended, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga for constructing the first-ever personal staff quarters at Kithobira Primary School that provided accommodation for two teachers.
The school head teacher, Mr. Julius Bwambale Mulenja, together with Mr. Emmy Katsunga, informed the Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi shortly after the commissioning of two classroom blocks worth 120 million shillings yesterday that the government had further supported Dr. Kiyonga’s initiative by constructing an additional staff quarter housing two more teachers. They reaffirmed that four teachers now reside at the school full-time and are therefore able to attend to learners more effectively. Mr. Julius and Mr. Katsunga speaking………
In his remarks, Mr. Muhindi urged parents and teachers to make full use of the facilities to improve children’s learning, rather than viewing it merely as a decorative structure.
He thanked the government for its continued investment in the education sector, particularly the introduction of hard-to-reach allowances, from which the staff at Kithobira are benefiting. Mr. Muhindi speaking…
He further reaffirmed the district’s commitment to monitoring and supervision, including increasing the number of inspectors, now that the school has nine teachers.
Mr. Peter Shabarwa, the SMC chairperson, and Mr. Birahuli Ezra Muhindo, the Inspector of Schools for Bukonzo West, both urged parents to support their school and work collaboratively with teachers as the government continues to address existing challenges, including lack of latrines, poor roads, and inadequate classrooms, among others.
