By Francis Muhindo,
Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese District Local Council five chairperson, has described as total disrespect by any parent or guardian who declines to have his child in school after the four decade long Royal declaration on education and conflict resolution by the Rwenzururu King.
His comments reflect what many perceive to be a positive twist in operations on August 15, 1982, when the Rwenzururu King, His Majesty Charles Mumbere Iremangoma marked a “tactical shift” in the Rwenzururu movement by moving away from a rebellion involving spears, guns, and arrows towards a, use of the Pen and dialogue approaches to present the concerns of his Kingdom.
Addressing mourners ahead of the requiem service for the late Peter Bukombi, a local resident of Nyamwamba East in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Mr. Muhindi who pledged continuous advocacy for arts teachers’ improved remunerations, asked parents and guardians to have their children in school as means to fulfil the king’s directives, as well as securing a better future for them. Mr. Muhindi speaking……..
In his address, His Worship Chance Kahindo, the Kasese Municipal Mayor, called for a shift in mind after the recent hot political season full of counteraccusations that require reconciliation and forgiveness, as well as a fulfilment of the pledges to the voters. Mr. Chance speaking…..
Mr. Chance was responding to an earlier appeal by Mr. Moses Kataba, the area the Local Council One chairperson, who had compelled the elected political leaders to track and fulfill their pledges to the local communities they represent. END
