The Opposition in Kasese district has made history after losing all the six Parliamentary seats to the National Resistance Movement-NRM, in the Thursday 15th Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Mr. Godfrey Mbabazi; the Kasese District Returning Officer saw, the opposition losing parliamentary seats at the tally centre at Kasese Multipurpose hall, since the inception of multiparty system in Kasese.





Hon. Florence Kabugho, the Kasese Woman Member of Parliament-FDC, Hon. Harold Tonny Muhindo, the Bukonzo County East legislator-PFF and the Bukonzo County West Member of Parliament, Hon.Atikens Godfery Katusabe-FDC all lost their seats to the NRM competitors.
Hon. Ferigo Kambale, Kasese Municipal MP retained his position for second term, Sowedi Kitanywa for Busongora County North and Sarah Baleke elected as Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament.
Bukonzo County West was won by Dr. Crispus Kiyonga who was trying for the third time since he was removed from parliament by Hon. Godfrey Atkins Katusabe, who won the race for two terms as Dr. Julius Bwambale Rude was declared winner for Bukonzo County East.
In 2016, the FDC also won the six parliamentary seats but in 2021, NRM managed to reclaim three. Mr. Godfrey Mbabazi; the Kasese District Returning Officer commended the people at the tally centre for being disciplined, despite a few manageable challenges. Mr. Mbabazi speaking…….
