The Islamic University in Uganda has cancelled a Mature Age Entry certificate that had been issued to Kitagwenda County NRM parliamentary aspirant, Mr. Robert Mugabe after investigations established that the documents he used to qualify for the examination were fraudulently obtained.
In a formal communication dated January 2, 2026, the University, through the Office of the Academic Registrar, announced the recall and cancellation of the Certificate which had been issued under the Mature Age Entry Scheme.
According to the University, the matter was exhaustively reviewed by the University’s Executive Board during its 382nd meeting held on December 31, 2025 and attended by the affected individual together with his legal representative. As a result of the decision, the University nullified the certificate with immediate effect and withdrew all academic rights and privileges arising from it. END
