
Hon. Johnson Mayora, the Speaker of Kasese District, has been officially nominated to contest for the District Local Council Five Chairperson seat in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries.
Mayora was nominated yesterday by the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi at the party headquarters in Kampala.
Speaking to our reporter today in Rugendabara-Kikongo Town Council shortly after his return from Kampala, Mayora pledged to prioritize the fight against the sale of jobs by the District Service Commission.

Hon. Mayora is contesting against the incumbent, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi Bukombi, along with Mr. Ben Kirere, Mr. Ospus Ezekiel Mulhumbira, and Ms. Bwambale Martina Kwirathwiwe.
In a related development, Mr. Yofesi Douglas Saturday Madaraka, an aspirant for the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament seat, also returned this afternoon from Kampala after being duly nominated.

Madaraka received a warm welcome from his supporters at Makumiana along the Kasese–Fort Portal Road, followed by a procession through Kasese Municipality.
