The Kasese district Chairperson, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi has broken silence by publically revealing that government was reportedly conned of one point two Billion shillings meant to purchase land for permanently settling the Internally Displaced People encamped in Muhokya town council in Kasese district.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Mr. Muhindi said some yet to be identified mafias received the money under disguise of procuring land to settle IDPs but that nothing was on ground.
Mr. Muhindi who said he was to follow the matter to its end result however, called for calm among the intended land beneficiaries now that President Museveni was recently informed over the reported empty deal that is currently being dealt with directly by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robina Nabanja and state house Comptroller, Ms Jane Barekye.
