Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, the State Minister for Trade and Cooperatives, has revealed that Uganda has surpassed other countries globally in coffee production.
Gen. Mbadi made the remarks yesterday while addressing a political rally for Dr. Julius Monday Rude, the NRM parliamentary contender for Bukonzo County East, held in Kasese District. He said that Uganda now produces coffee with highly demanded moisture content, outperforming global producers such as Cambodia, Indonesia, and Brazil.

Meanwhile, the Kasese District Cotton Farmers’ Group, which coordinates cotton farmers across the district, has appealed to the government to set cotton prices, noting that the current price of one thousand four hundred shillings per kilogram is demoralizing farmers. END
