The declaration of Hon. Ukash Swaibu Musenene as unopposed Kasese Municipal councilor representing town Centre Ward, is null and void, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the Kasese District FDC party, has announced.
Hon. Ukash who doubles as the speaker for Kasese Municipality, was declared unopposed after his FDC competitor, Mr. Yesgaurd Kahungu, reportedly wrote to the Electoral Commission, withdrawing from the race.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at his party offices this morning, Mr. Kabuku described the move by Mr. Kahungu to withdraw from the race without consulting his FDC party, as not only selfish but unlawful.
He revealed that FDC had petitioned the Electoral Commission to prepare an election for the directly elected male councilor for Town Center Ward where another party candidate would be availed for the position. Mr. Kabuku speaking1……..

Whereas no comment had been obtained from Mr. Kahungu the FDC flag bearer for the position, yet to be confirmed reports alleged that the withdraw decision could have been made after an understanding with Mr. Ukashi, an NRM candidate. END
