Former Member of Parliament for Kasese Municipality, Hon. Robert Centenary has described as unfortunate the recent bill made law that requires over speeding drivers to pay an express penalty of two million shillings from two hundred thousand shillings.

In an interview with Our Reporter in Kasese town yesterday, Hon. Centenary said whereas the Traffic and road safety act provides for road signs, most of them have been stolen at the disadvantage of the road users.
Hon. Centenary says it’s painful and inhuman for Parliament to pass a bill that is now law without tasking government on a number of requirements to for proper road use. Hon. Centenary speaking1…..
The disappointed Hon. Centenary said now that expenditure in Uganda is high, government should not be desperate for taxes mainly on the popular computerized number plates but spend where need be and check the rampant corruption by public servants. Hon. Centenary speaking2..
He has asked legislators to always consult their electorates before blessing bills that turn a disaster to the public. END.
