The Kasese Chief Magistrate’s court has today remanded till 23 December 2025, the 84 suspects of the November 1st attacks targeting security installations in Fort-portal city, Kasese, Bunyangabu and Bundibugyo districts.

Court presided over by His Worship George Mfituninda, heard that from the year 2024 and 1st November 2025, the accused persons attempted to overrun the government of Uganda by carrying out attacks targeting security installation; killing and injuring security officers after participating in military trainings, attending planning meetings in both Uganda and the DR Congo.

His Worship Mfituninda read the seven accounts of treason, terrorism, murder and attempted murder, aggravated robbery, financing terrorism, aggravated trafficking of persons, contrary to the law, to the accused persons. His Worship Mfitundinda speaking……..
Speaking to media shortly after court, Hon. Barnabas Tingasimire and counsel from Victoria and Co-advocate, was concerned about detention of the suspects beyond the designated 48 hours without trial, however, calling on the relatives of the accused persons to check on them at Mubuku government prison. During the attacks, Kasese police barracks, where officers were injured, was targeted, as well as Malindi and Kakuka military detachments in Bundibugyo, where Pt. Samuel Twesigye and his wife Anita Nayebale, were killed. END
