Centenary Bank has resumed trainings for Sacco members under the Catholic Women Association, with a call on Sacco leaderships to sensitize their members about the importance of hard work, savings culture and finance discipline.
Addressing trainees at Kitswamba Catholic Parish headquarters in Kitswamba town council in Kasese district over the weekend, Mr. Benson Thembo, a field officer with Centenary Bank-Kasese branch, said the training also emphasized the need to open Bank Accounts to protect savings and lives, as well as highlighting the dangers of multiple loans that cause unnecessary pressure to clients.

A Bank Account according to Mr. Benson, protects money and life of a client from robbers, it’s a basis for loans and an intervention into uncalled for expenditures by a bank account holder.

In a separate interview with Kasese Guide Radio shortly after the training, Ms Doreen Masika, the Sacco Board of Directors’ Chairperson in the Diocese of Kasese, highlighted the rationale behind their trainings, saying they were established to prepare local Churches and Parishes for independence in managing borrowed finances as the diocese maintains her supervisory role. Ms Doreen who said a finically stable woman stands a better chance to support her family and the Church, asked Sacco members to stick to their plans, share ideas and refund on time to increase their chances for more loans in future. END
