The Principal Secretary to the Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Mustafa Kikusa has called for urgent interventions by the Community Development Officers into what he calls excessive pressure from women against their husbands, some of whom are reportedly visitors in their own matrimonial bedrooms.
He also attributed the increasing cases of suicide among men to suppression by some women who do not only deny conjugal rights to their husbands but nickname and turn them into laughing stocks.
In his speech while closing a one-day sensitization campaign of continuing and school dropouts on Gender Based Violence at Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council headquarters in Kasese district yesterday, Mr. Kikusa however asked men as well, to style up by working hard, being focused and fulfill their roles effectively to attract respect from their families.
