A fatal road accident occurred early this morning when a passenger bus lost control and collided with a private vehicle in Rwimi Town Council, Bunyangabu District.
No official comment yet from police, but the Secretary for Works and Technical Services for Bunyangabu District, Hon. Francis Tumuhimbise, identified the bus as belonging to Jussy Bus Company, registration number UA469CB carrying over fifty passengers that collided with a Toyota Premio, registration number UAX 490H, No passenger was harmed.

The bus was reportedly travelling from Kampala to Kasese, while the Premio was returning after dropping off children at Excel Primary School in Rwimi Town Council.
According to initial reports, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure. Hon. Tumuhimbise speaking….
Speaking to our reporter from his hospital bed at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese Town, the bus driver, Mr. Ivan Nguruziza, 53, said that in his thirty-five years of driving, he had never caused an accident.
He explained that after reaching Kasunganyanja Trading Centre, the shaft reportedly broke down, leaving the bus uncontrollable at high speed until it reached Rwimi Town, veered off the main road, and collided with the Premio. Mr. Nguruziza speaking….
Earlier, the Town Clerk for Rwimi Town Council, Mr. James Mbanga, and the Physical Planner, Mr. Yosia Kule, issued a seven-day ultimatum to roadside vendors operating near the Rwimi roundabout to relocate.
