The 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) faced delays in Kasese District, particularly in Mbunga and Kilembe sub-counties, due to floods and poor road conditions, the Kasese District Education Officer, Mr. Ernest Thabugha, has confirmed.
Mr. Thabugha identified the affected Primary schools as Mbunga andNyakazinga Primary Schoolsin Mbunga Sub-county, andKyambogho Primary School in Kilembe Sub-county.
According to Mr. Thabugha, examination materials reached the affected schools at 10:00 a.m., after UNEB distributors reportedly carried the materials on their heads due to impassable roads. As a result, candidates started their first paper at 10:30 a.m.
Speaking to the press at the Rwenzori East Regional Police Headquarters, Mr. Thabugha noted that despite the challenges in the mountainous areas, examinations proceeded smoothly in schools located on the lowlands.
