Two senior officials of Kamuli District Local Government have been charged before the Anti-Corruption Court over the alleged embezzlement of more than 600 million shillings intended for road rehabilitation and maintenance.
The accused, Mr. Nasser Mukiibi, the Chief Administrative Officer and Mr. Alex Kifuuse, the Chief Finance Officer, were arraigned before court yesterday by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit spokesperson, Mariam Natasha, whereas the monies were withdrawn between May and June 2025, the rehabilitation works earmarked for the Financial Year 2024/2025, were never carried out, despite the full expenditure of the allocated funds.
