The local leadership of Katanda village in Munkunyu subcounty in Kasese District has called for neighborhood watch promotion against suspects vandalizing the recently commissioned Kabingo Water Gravity Flow Scheme project.
Just yesterday, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner represented by Ms Justine Mutabazi Muhindo, commissioned the 645 million project yesterday with a call for ownership by the locals.
However, Mr. Philip Bisangyi, the area Local Council one chairperson for Katanda reported that some selfish people were targeting tap stands for scrap, a 14-year-old boy who was arrested last week, being an example of the suspects.
Mr Sezi Police Baluku, the area local council three chairperson, called for vigilance against suspected vandalizers, urging the local residents to own all government funded projects. Mr Police speaking…….
Mr. Mustafa Kikusa, the Principal Secretary in the office of the Kasese Chief Administrative Officer, called for the establishment of the water user committees that will put in place bylaws to be implemented for the protection of the project. Mr Kikusa speaking……
He also warned those future committees against personalizing the project. END
