Uganda Land Commission has officially opened a three days data verification exercise in Karusandara subcounty in Kasese District to simplify the process to transfer land tittles from government to individual institutions and persons.
Speaking to our reporter during the exercise, Mr. Tom Kasenge, a commissioner in the Ministry of lands, said their role was to display the sketch maps after the recent survey to allow institutions and individuals verify their names and land locations before signing the land title transfer forms.
Mr. Kasenge who argued individuals and heads of institutions would hand in photocopies of their passport sized photos and National IDs, as well as cellphone contacts, said the pieces of land in question was originally owned by Mubuku prison, Mubuku irrigation scheme and former Game Corridor of Kibale National park among others.
