As Uganda retires from the local council three political leaders’ vote on Wednesday, some successful candidates have announced their priority programs, most of them, a confirmation of their political campaign pledges to the voters.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after being declared by the District returning officer yesterday, Mr. Emmanuel Masereka, the local council three Chairperson elect for Bwera subcounty in Kasese district, said many roads in a sorry state were his priority immediately he receives instruments of power from his predecessor, Mr. Gregory Makotsa of FDC. Omulodi John Bosco Kananura, the chairman elect for Katwe-Kabatooro town council, said besides battling floods frustrating salt mining, he intends to sensitize the masses on possible alternative incomes sources like agriculture, to improve the living conditions of the locals.
