Members of the Kasese Diocesan Liturgical Committee for the 3rd June National Martyrs Day celebrations have visited the Namugongo Martyrs Catholic Shrine to appreciate the magnitude of the event and to acquaint themselves with the physical design of the site as part of preparations for the upcoming Martyrs celebrations.
The team was received by the Shrine’s Rector, Reverend Fr. Vincent Lubega, who urged the diocesan organizing committee to enhance cooperation with relevant stakeholders, particularly national security agencies.
He encouraged them to consult and learn from both the mistakes and successes of previous hosts in order to ensure a better and well-coordinated pilgrimage.

It should be remembered that Diocese of Kasese last animated the Namugongo Martyrs Day celebrations ten years ago under Bishop Egidio Nkaijanabwo, and will animate this year’s celebrations under Bishop Francis Kibira, under the theme “Christ is Alive in You and Me.”. END
