Lawyers from NUP, led by the party’s Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, yesterday visited Kitalya Prison to check on the welfare of the party’s Deputy President for Buganda, Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, who is currently on remand over terrorism-related charges.

The legal team was, however, denied physical access to Kivumbi and was not permitted to take photographs within the prison premises. Speaking to journalists after the visit, Mr. Rubongoya said the lawyers were briefed on Kivumbi’s condition by prison authorities and reported that he was strong and in stable health. END
