It is one’s right to vote a political leader of his choice, with Lt. Matte Magwara, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner, asking all voters to turn up in big numbers to cast their votes as Kasese joins the rest of Uganda to elect their local council five chairpersons.
The Electoral Commission scheduled today 22nd January, 2026 as the day for all registered voters to choice person of integrity who would head the political affairs of their respective districts.
Lt. Magwara, said a district chairperson is someone who chairs the district Executive Committee, among others, coordinates with the Central government and monitor’s the implementation of council resolutions.
It is against this background that the retired army officer calls upon all the 429,499 registered voters in Kasese district to vote for a person who matters in running the district affairs. Lt. Magwara speaking…….
Earlier, Hon. Mr. Godfrey Kabbyanga, the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance had equally stated that a district leader needs to outshine trivial and cheap politics of an area. END
