President Yoweri Museveni has challenged the people of Kasese to jealously guard the peace that was ushered in by the NRM government since they know what it means to be at war.
Addressing a campaign rally at Nyakasanga playground in Kasese Municipality today afternoon, Museveni said previously, the area was being disturbed by rebels from the nearby Democratic Republic of Congo but said these have been defeated and peace has returned.
Museveni told the people of Kasese that having ushered in peace, the NRM government embarked on construction of several infrastructure projects, including roads, mentioning a number of those that have been tarmacked.

He assured the People of Kasese that Government will construct standard Gauge Railway line and upgrade Kasese Airfield to International level.

Museveni directed the state house comptroller, Attorney General and Prime Minister’s office to intervene in Kasese land conflicts.
