The Directorate of Fire and Rescue Services in Kampala has retrieved the bodies of three people who died in a fire that gutted a timber market in Ndeeba on Thursday night.

The blaze, which also spread to nearby lodges, left the victims burned beyond recognition.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Rachel Kawala, confirmed the fatalities, saying the incident occurred in Kajubi Zone, Ndeeba Parish in Rubaga Division.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire started in a timber shop before quickly spreading to the lodges where the victims were sleeping.
Kawala said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, noting that investigations are underway. She added that the bodies have been taken to the City Mortuary Mulago for post-mortem examinations and identification. Ms. Kawala speaking….
