The Bishop of the Diocese of Madi-West Nile, Rt. Rev. Collins Charles Andaku, has asked government and other election stakeholders to protect journalists against attacks, arrests and intimidations while performing their role of informing public as campaigns in the country intensifies.

While delivering his message at this year’s annual End-of-Year media fellowship with his office in Arua City, the bishop noted that political campaigns normally come along with tension, high emotions and heightened public attention in which journalists are sometimes targeted innocently.
He appealed to security agencies, political actors and members of the public to safeguard and support freedom and safety of journalists while on the line of duty, as he encouraged journalists to remain professional to present some of the cases. Bishop Andaku speaking…
This media fellowship, hosted by Arua One FM, is the second edition after it was launched last year and the engagement attracts media practitioners from different media houses in the region, joined by religious leaders from the diocese. End
