The Inspector General of Police, Abbas Byakagaba has assured the local residents in the Rwenzori Region of guaranteed security following the November 1st targeting security installations in Kasese and Bundibugyo districts.

Addressing the media at Verina Gardens in Kasese Municipality after a security meeting that also included the Rwenzururu Kingdom establishment this afternoon, IGP Byakagaba reaffirmed the security of the local population and property as the suspects are being isolated for peace to prevail.

Mr. Byakagaba who asked the kingdom subjects to turn up in big numbers for the 59th Royal Coronation anniversary and Omusinga Birth day run on 14th this week without fear, commended the Kingdom for championing unity, reconciliation and co-existence for the current peaceful living and development in and outside the cultural institution. In a separate interview with the media, the Rwenzururu Kingdom Premier, Rt. Hon. Benson Baritazale Kule, described his meeting with the IGP as very fruitful and a boost to the Friday kingdom twin events; commending the Kasese RDC for commanding a protective security apparatus that has guaranteed security in the Rwenzori sub-region.

The visit of the IGP followed the November 1st November attacks by individuals from yet to be identified group who carried out simultaneous attacked on the Kasese police barracks as well as the Bulindi UPDF detachment in Bundibugyo district among their other targets in the region. END
