Every Rwenzururu subject is expected to contribute a minimum of 2,000 shillings towards the establishment of the Kingdom’s radio station, “Nzururu FM (Omulenge Wekyithwe), the Kingdom’s Minister for Information, Mobilization, and Spokesperson, Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi, has announced.



Addressing stakeholders and members of the media over the weekend at Bwiranda Hotel in Kasese Town, Hon. Kanyonyi revealed that the project is part of the Kingdom’s five-year strategic plan, aimed at promoting and preserving Rwenzururu culture among its people.

According to Kanyonyi Many Bakonzo children have reportedly diverted from their cultural roots and adopted Western culture. This shift is largely due to the alleged absence of folk education and culturally focused sensitization programs on radio and television platforms in the Rwenzori sub-region. END
