The death toll for the deadly Kasika mudslide incident in Kasese district has risen to fifteen, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi the Kasese district chairperson has confirmed.
According Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, plans were underway this afternoon to transfer the bodies to Kasika primary school for a postmortem so as the families arranges for burial as they wait for any plans from the office of the Prime Mister for possible relocation to better places of the surviving families. He called for more consciousness and relocation by the locals in the most disaster prone areas.
The 15 bodies so far evacuated are from the families of the Mwanamwolho who have lost 3, Matsipa with 4, Makombo family lost 1, four from the Lazaro family and three from Mutamba family among others.
In a separate interview with our reporter, Mr. Patrick Kyamanduma reports that the evacuators were expecting more three whose whereabouts are not clear. END
