Kasese Municipal Council has been allocated 76 billion shillings under the Uganda support to Municipal Infrastructural Development (USMID) to construct more important roads in the urban centre this financial year.
The revelation was made yesterday by the Municipality Mayor, Mr. Chance Kahindo while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview at his office in Kasese town.
According to Kahindo, the 76 billion comes after the Municipal Council was declared the best in utilizing over 50 billion shillings that was given to the urban Centre in 2022 under the USMID programme with funding from the World Bank.
Mr. Kahindo named the new roads to be constructed beginning September as, Kyebambe-Kibanzanga, Cathedral road, Henery Bwambale Road, Lingoni road, Saad and Kijongo among others .Mr. Kahindo speaking..
He stressed that during the construction works, the drainage channels would be catered for in order to restrain floods from causing havoc in the urban centre. End.
