By Katya David,
The youth should either form groups or else lose out on government funding, Leonard Imanishimwe, the Executive Director for Uganda Youth Forum in the office of the First Lady of Uganda has said.
Other than the youth, Mr. Imanishimwe said it was currently hard for the government of Uganda and he development partners to fund small household projects but groups of women, men and other special categories of people whom he said are easy to monitor.
Representing Mr. Imanishimwe at St. Stephen’s Kogere Church of Uganda over the weekend, Mr. Neckson Taheramboko who called for timely preparation for retirement, encouraged group formation by different categories of people before asking the two groups in Kasese municipality which benefited from the Rwenzori-Luwero scheme, to put the money to good use. Mr. Thaheramboko speaking……..
The Lay reader, Mr. Ali Masereka who received the 500.000 shillings donation to the group’s retirement project, said their group was basically to prepare for a soft landing of retiring lay readers without which, some of their family members would negatively interpret their service to God during retirement. Mr. Ali speaking…….
He also said retirement should not only be confirned to those in positions of service but each one’s role to plan for old age. END.
