Joint efforts are required against myths and misconceptions about person living with disability that continuously put these vulnerable people at higher risk of both psychological and physical torture.
Addressing students of Liberty College of Journalism and management in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Ms Scovia Mwerya, the Executive Director for Action on Disability and Development said continued misconceptions about PWDs, have deprived them of their rights, including subjecting them to abuse and death.
She asked learners to be ambassadors of mindset change for PWDs who are equally agents of development. Ms. Scovia speaking………
Mr. Kiiza Ronald, a second year journalism student at the College called for more consciousness by learning institutions he thinks must admit and make their premises accessible by People Living with Disabilities.

Earlier, Ms Scovia who reminded community members that they were agents disability, asked the learners to appreciate PWDs by supporting them especially to easily receive basic needs. Ms. Scovia speaking2……
She also asked the community to have accommodative statements to PWDs who she said are very productive if welcomed. END.
