Kitswamba subcounty in Kasese district has had challenges applying for more funds under poverty alleviations programs by government after many groups and individuals defaulted.
According to Mr. Yofesi Katenene, the area local council three chairperson, the government of Uganda introduced several low interest rate loan schemes to registered groups to boost the incomes of their individual members but many women and youth have defaulted.
Addressing council members at the subcounty headquarters on Friday last week, Mr. Katenene was concerned that his subcounty was handcuffed and not able to apply for more funds because the previous beneficiaries had not refunded. Mr. Katenene speaking……
