YAGANET, a non-Governmental Organization has launched a new project of Empowering Africa’s youth through innovation and skills development in Kasese District.
The Executive Director YAGANET, Mr. Isaya Baluku, said the project was designed in response to the pressing need to equip the youth and women with employable skills and empower them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
The project supported by Innovation village, Red Cross and MasterCard foundation will train 200,000 thousand youths across Uganda.
The youths will be equipped with practical business skills in various sectors, including agribusiness, food processing, value addition, handcrafts and technology among others. Mr. Isaya speaking…
Isaya said to foster entrenuership and Innovation among the youth and women beneficiaries between the ages of 18-35 will receive knowledge and tools to start their own businesses.
Representing the Kasese Chief Administrative Officer at the official launch held today at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese town, the Senior Assistant secretary, Mr. Kikusa Mustafa, hailed YAGANET for supplementing government program of skilling the youth, therefore appealing to the local community to use this opportunity.

Mr.Ronald Muhindo like others in Kasese District, commended YAGANET for having trained them in the last cohort in skilling, saying they have started earning money through making crafts.
