A local court in Kakuka village in Kyalhumba subcounty in Kasese district has fined a woman in her late forties, one hundred and three thousand shillings for stealing cassava.
Mr. Isaac Kinyamburugha, the former chairperson local council one chairperson for the neighboring Kataleba village and owner of the garden, said Maama Ibrahim was arrested by the neighbors after the suspect could not tell them whether she had been authorized to uproot the cassava from the garden.

Mr. Isaac later said the remorseful suspect had already paid part of the fine and warned against her actions that can be neutralized by hard work. Mr. Isaac Kinyamburugha speaking………
Ms. Janeroza Mbambu, a local resident warned fellow women against stealing, saying such acts were a risk to their lives now that the local community members were pieced off by thieves. END.
