A mother was evacuated from the grounds of Jinja High Court yesterday when she collapsed shortly after the magistrate remanded her two sons.
Lydia Kwikiriza collapsed after Jinja chief magistrate, Jude Muwone remanded 20-year-old Joel Musasizi, a senior six student at Jinja senior secondary school, and his 18-year-old sibling Andrew Muwanguzi, a senior three student at African secondary school to Kirinya prisons until December 6th, 2022 for illegal possession of narcotic substances.
The duo was arrested during a joint security crackdown against suspected criminals in Bugembe ward in the Jinja City Northern division.
Kwikiriza’s sister, Amina Nabbanjji says that her sister who is battling chronic sickle cell illness, high blood pressure, and diabetes collapsed after receiving news that Musasizi had been remanded until the first week of December, yet the briefing of senior six candidates is slated for November 18th, 2022.Ms.Nabbanjji speaking….
A health worker from Jinja Regional Referral Hospital emergency ward, told the media on condition of anonymity that medical investigations show that Kwikiriza became deficient in insulin in her body, after enduring stressful situations without food for more than 48 hours, and had been placed on oxygen support to ensure stability.
