At least 13 people have been killed this week after landslides hit Kasese district, with the latest being a 43 year old man, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
Mr. Joseph Isingoma, the District senior planner confirmed the information and said the landslides caused by territorial rains reportedly killed nine people on Wedsday and four the following day.
Isingoma, advised people on high-risk prone areas to reallocate on the lower land with immediate effect, adding that further down pours and flooding are likely to hit Kasese district, the weather agency has warned.
Kasese Guide Radio Communicator based in Kyabikere Catholic Parish, Mr. Alfred Bwambale reported that a one late Doviko Muhindo a charcoal burner and resident of Kyabikere cell in Kanyatsi-Kithoma town council is the latest person to have flooded and died along River Thako in Eastern DR-Congo.
He will be laid to rest at his ancestral home In Kyabikere Village today.
